Topic Description
In this topic you will be introduced to the concept of academic integrity, values of academic integrity, and the role of courage in academic integrity. It is common to hear such terms as cheating, dishonesty and plagiarism. In most academic institution, almost all, you find there are strict laws about cheating and sometimes associated with severe punishment including discontinuation from studies. Yet student cheat. Questions coming to the mind might be why regardless of all the associated punishment resulting from cheating, student cheat? A person with integrity is expected to display behaviour such as honesty, fairness, respect, trust, perseverance, responsibility and courage. This part of the lecture we will engage ourselves in understanding academic integrity with a focus in the current development and use of ICT.
