  1. For the case of the assessment that engages the learners, my choice has been on Peer and Self-assessment exercises to be administered to student online focusing on formative assessment.
  2. The activity will base on Topic Two of OSP 101: Introduction to Social work - Social Work Principles and professional purposes.
  3. The design of the activities will be:
    • On peer assessment, students will be explained on the assessment task ahead.
    • They will be divided into groups, given an assignment to do regarding how best social work principles can assist client behavioral change.
    • Criteria for assessment will be provided and sense of trust will be built
    • The exercise will be shared through discussion forums
    • On self-assessment, students will be involved through forum to discuss and identify criteria and standards for assessment. The exercise will focus on the social work practical side on the use of values and principles in helping clients. Any student will assess themselves on the ability to perform client-therapy approach towards a person addicted with substance abuse.
  1. These assessment methods have been selected because
    • students are encouraged on self-confidence, focus on process, participating in solving own problems and ownership of learning
    • It increases on students the sense of being responsible and making fare judgements
    • On the case of peer assessment, students are encouraged to collaborate with others and to acknowledge what constitute of a good work. It also improves learning and hard work by filling gaps and identification of weaknesses when learning from others
