My assessment plan will be on the topics of the course entitled 'Introduction to Social Work', OSP 101.

  1. The assessment will base on testing the learners acquired skills and knowledge as per learning outcomes of each of the topic which are;
    • The history and development of social work in Europe, America and Tanzania to be well understood
    • The concept of social justice and its impacts to social work to be clearly understood
    • The concept concerning Social work practice with the individuals, families, groups, organizations and community will be comprehensively understood
    • Social work profession will be clearly differentiated with other professions/disciplines;
    • The roles and functions of social work to be well understood
    • The knowledge, skills, values, and ethics and its implications to social work will be examined ;
    • Personal self will be differentiated from professional self for improving professionalism
    • Research based on professional ethical standards for enhancing professionalism will be conducted
    • Professional communication skills across intervention strategies will be demonstrated
    • gender, ethnic, tribal and regional, disability, age, migration and religious diversity affirmed for effective practice
    • All population groups will be engaged by using social work values and ethics to implement services
    • Technology to facilitate evidence-based-practice will be applied
    • The generalist practice wheel (engaging, assessment, planning, implementing, supervising and monitoring/evaluation, termination cases) to improve social work practice will be applied
  2. In this course the assessment mode will count on quiz, essay tools; written tests, exams, individual/group assignments as well as discussions and role plays.
  3. Oral exercises will be avoided due to the fact that in this mode of learning there are less face-to-face-student-instructor-contacts. Instructions are provided on line in a distant mode of learning
  4. Two modes of assessment will be used including formative and summative.
    • On formative assessment, matching items, multiple choice, TRUE and FALSE, Filling Missed Words and rearranging the sentences to make sensible order will technologically be applied
    • On summative assessment, written exercises including tests, exams and assignments will be applied

Your assessment plan is appealing, I could not however establish if the course is offered online or it fits into the traditional mode of delivery.

As well, the activity demanded us to create our own Assessment plans and assess it as per the handout given (This is the way I understood the assignment, I tend to be corrected though). If you could reflect this second part of the activity in the assessment plan you created to complete the assessment please.
