The module aims at addressing comprehensively collective and integrated issues related to nutrition, dietetics and health. It underscores the role of food and nutrition in promoting community health and well-being. This is the primary objective of the entire programme. It is nowadays clear that the majority of no-infectious chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, chronic respiratory disease, coronary diseases, gout arthritis and the like are lifestyle dependent, whereby dietary and social behavior are the underlying causes. The comprehensive knowledge in food and nutrition to community members as envisaged in this module is considered vital in addressing the problem.
